- Continued as the lead sponsor at the 20-week Hanford Thursday Night Market Place and provided hundreds of free health screenings
- Participated in 14 farmer’s market nights in Reedley
- Painted Downtown Pink in recognition of breast cancer awareness; Hanford Market Place vendors decorated booths in pink, and more than 300 community members wore pink; participants signed up to receive a free pink pedometer and walk 2,500 steps, or about 1.5 miles, at the Market Place
- Educated 596 people on various health topics at 11 First Friday with a Physician lectures at Adventist Medical Center – Hanford and a similar lecture in Reedley
- Participated in Selma and Hanford Senior Days, serving more than 250 people
- Provided health education at seven community events with more than 780 people in attendance
- Gave 11 dental presentations in Hanford and Sanger, serving 305 children
- Joined community groups in caring for the homeless through two Project Homeless Connect events; staff provided 128 free health screenings and scheduled 23 follow-up appointments
- Gave 100 Christmas gifts for Kings County foster children and partnered with the Selma Fire Department to donate more than 200 toys to Burn Foundation children
- Donated more than 300 canned goods and 40 toys to Street Light Ministries in Reedley
- Educated more than 335 people at 26 Diabetes Support Group meetings in Hanford, Sanger, Selma and Reedley
- Partnered with community groups for the Weight of the Nation event in Hanford. Staff demonstrated how to live a healthier lifestyle to more than 100 people
- Central Valley’s Nutritional Services teamed up with the Kings County Commission on Aging to provide 90 hot meals four days a week for four congregant meal sites in Kings County, along with 40 frozen meals a day, five days a week for home-bound seniors
- More than 135 families participated in the Back to School Health Fair in Hanford; staff performed 29 school physicals and immunizations and more than 200 health screenings
- Mentored 10 Doctors Academy students from Selma and Caruthers high schools as part of the University of California, San Francisco-Fresno Latino Center for Medical Education and Research Program
- Provided $42,027,341 in free and low-cost services to the community
- Opened Adventist Medical Plaza - Dinuba to provide extended-hour urgent care, imaging, lab and JobCare occupational medicine services
- Added clinics in Avenal, Caruthers, Corcoran, Cutler, Kerman, Riverdale and Taft
- Opened the region’s first comprehensive Wound Healing Center with advanced equipment and two hyperbaric oxygen chambers
- Opened the Greenfield Community Garden and partnered with UC Davis and the California Fresh Nutrition Program to hold classes for growers; 4H Club members donated their plot’s produce to local charities
- American Diabetes Association recognized Community Care Diabetes Self-Management Program for meeting national standards
- California Department of Public Health recognized Community Care – Avenal, Dinuba West, Reedley Children’s and Selma campuses for scoring in the top 10 percent of clinics in the state in vaccination requirements
- Launched a Spiritual Care Volunteer Program with nine Stephens Ministry-trained volunteers to provide religious support for patients
- Launched a 40-member Volunteer Ambassador Program
- Spearheaded Experience Design initiatives to improve patient experiences with 70 staff members who recommended innovative practices at a summit
- CEP America recognized Adventist Medical Center - Selma as a Distinguished Site for high patient satisfaction scores and low wait times; the ER also achieved a record number of visits
- Breast Care Center scored 80 percent in overall patient satisfaction
