  • Partnered with 30 community churches across the system to integrate population health programs in their congregations, with the intent for these congregations to be recognized as wellness centers in their communities
  • Created and implemented a spiritual assessment, documentation and referral system as the foundation for providing comprehensive spiritual care across the continuum of care
  • Implemented the system’s first Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program to prepare the next generation of chaplains, build relationships with community clergy, offer spiritual support for Adventist Health clinics and outpatient entities and fill a growing need for community education in this field
  • Consolidated 20+ employee health plans into two systemwide plans, emphasizing equity and accountability. Achieved 96 percent employee participation in the wellness-focused Engaged! health plan option
  • Launched Population Health initiative and created a core of seven projects for first five-year focus. Established interdisciplinary care team, including medical director, care managers, a registered dietician, clinical pharmacist and other support personnel, to focus on specific population health metrics and improvement of care.
  • Achieved Stage 1 Meaningful Use for electronic health records
  • Completed an additional 44 electronic health record (EHR) interfaces, bringing the supported number of live EHR interfaces to 84, connecting more than 460 providers
  • Installed Cerner’s PowerChart Ambulatory software at 136 clinic locations, activated Cerner’s PowerChart Oncology software at four sites and implemented Cerner’s PowerChart Maternity and Fetal Link across the enterprise
  • Standardized Medical Staff IT solutions across the enterprise through the use of HealthLine Echo software
  • Implemented Adventist Health’s suite of clinical and financial systems at Adventist Medical Center – Reedley
