  • Gave hand-washing presentations to 350 elementary school children
  • Educated 565 people on various health topics at 10 “First Friday with a Physician” lectures at Adventist Medical Center – Hanford
  • Provided 52 blood pressure checks and 49 blood glucose checks at the Soroptimist Back to School Child Spree
  • Provided health education and information in more than 3,000 encounters at the Reedley Fiesta, a three-day event
  • Administered 60 blood pressure checks and 58 blood glucose checks at the Kings and Tulare counties’ Senior Picnic in the Park event
  • Joined community groups in caring for the homeless through a Project Homeless Connect event. Provided health education and information to 225 people
  • Gave 100 Christmas gifts for Kings County foster children and donated more than 200 toys to Selma Cares and Burn Foundation children
  • Educated 277 people at 21 Diabetes Support Group meetings in the towns of Hanford, Sanger, Selma and Reedley
  • Central Valley General Hospital’s Nutritional Services Department teamed up with the Kings County Commission on Aging to provide 27,682 meals as part of the Kings County Senior Nutrition Program. They served, on average, 340 hot meals weekly at four congregate meal sites in Kings County, along with 200 frozen meals a week for home-bound seniors
  • Nearly 300 community members participated in our Back to School Health Fair in Hanford. Staff gave 32 school physicals/immunizations and 47 health screenings
  • Mentored 13 Doctors Academy students from Selma and Caruthers high schools as part of the University of California, San Francisco-Fresno Latino Center for Medical Education and Research Program
  • Provided $11,952 to 32 employees in need through the Employee Emergency Fund

  • Broke ground for construction on a new 49,000-square-foot Family Birth Center in Hanford with 34 private beds and an innovative patient-centered design. More than $800,000 has been pledged or donated to the center by employees, hospital volunteer groups, community members and the Kings Regional Health Foundation
  • Adventist Medical Center – Reedley and 31 community care clinics implemented the Cerner electronic health records system
  • Awarded a Gold Nugget Bronze Award from the California Council for Excellence and the California Team Excellence Awards Council for improving in-network patient transfers
