- Raised $46,000 at the SJCH Foundation Golf Tournament
benefiting The AIS Cancer Center’s Transportation Fund
- Received a $250,000 donation from Wayne & Lynn Deats
through a bequest to The AIS Cancer Center. As a result, the
Wayne & Lynn Deats Family Radiation Therapy Waiting Area
was named in their honor
- Held the first annual Five-Alarm BBQ benefitting the Grossman
Burn Center at SJCH – raising more than $65,000
- Hosted 176 clinics and administered 17,832 free immunizations
to 5,509 children via SJCH’s Mobile Children’s
Immunizations Program
- Partnered with Links for Life to “light the hospital and cancer
center pink” during October for breast cancer awareness
- For the third year, collaborated with the American Cancer Society
for the Making Strides breast cancer awareness walk
- Partnered with the American Lung Association to host a free
workshop on lung cancer during Lung Cancer Awareness Month
- Hosted community health events, including: The NICU Reunion,
a nutrition workshop, sidewalk CPR as well as a summer picnic
and Christmas party for burn survivors
- Partnered with local organizations including: the American Heart
Association, American Stroke Association, American Cancer
Society, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, CASA of Kern County,
March of Dimes, JJ’s Legacy, the Bakersfield Homeless Center, The
Mission of Kern County, Kaiser Permanente, PG&E, Aera Energy
and California State University, Bakersfield
- Provided $20,943,308 for community health development
- Opened a four-story, 60,000-square-foot comprehensive cancer
center and outpatient surgery center
- Announced partnership between SJCH’s AIS Cancer Center and
UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center, linking SJCH with the
university health system’s Cancer Care Network
- Opened an outdoor, walk-up Starbucks kiosk on campus, a first
of its kind worldwide
- Received the American Stroke Association’s Get With The
Guidelines Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award –
the
highest honor for stroke care
- Earned full accreditation for The Chest Pain Center with
Percutaneous Coronary Interventions from the Society of
Cardiovascular Patient Care
